Huron june 3rd

Same plan as yesterday, headed NW little bit farther west of dumping ground so we could get setup before hitting dumping ground. Man the lake is smooth today, NEVER seen Erie this smooth. Started trolling east at 7am. Same setup bandits behind boards and DHJ12s off the corners with snap weights, and Maglip off the side with 3oz snap weight to get it down quicker. Trolled east for probably twice as long today before turning with the waves because fish were biting so good in that direction. When the bite slowed down in that direction, then we turned NE and trolled with the waves. By the time we turned NE we only needed like 5 more fish to limit out. Caught our 5 and was limited out by 10. 3 man limit, trolled 38-45 FOW fishing 15-24 ft deep. All depths caught fish but 24ft deep tended to be the most active. best colors was bandits sunspot, and chrome fruit dots. Going to be windier tomorrow, hopefully get out early and catch them before it gets too bad.

Huron june 2nd

Launched and headed NW out of Huron. Setup just west of dumping ground and started trolling east. Trolling bandits behind offshore planer boards, and DHJ12s with snap weights off the corners. trolled east for a couple of miles getting bites here and there steadily. Wind picked up a little so turned NE to troll with the waves. Bite starting to pick up now. Had steady action till we limited out. Started fishing around 730 and finished our 3 man limit around 1130. fished 38-40FOW fishing 15-24 feet down. All colors caught fish at all depths. very good day on the water.

sharing info?

I’ll be fishing out of Port Clinton area June16-20. If anyone wants to share info on the bite, lures etc. Let me know and we can get a text message thread started. I’ve had great success doing this in the past. Saves a lot of boat riding.

Draggin the Line with John

We fished today, June 7th East of Kellie’s.Started north and headed south with the waves.Speed was around 2.3 mph.Had my girlfriend with us on her first fish of the season too.Took us one long southerly troll to limit in just under 2hrs.Our 18 weighed 40 lbs at cleaners.Biggest 23″ but sorted at 17″.Had no shorts or junk again. The dipseys did most of the work with J9 on both 3 settings at 50 &60.Had worm burners on both 1 setting at 30 and 40.Put out 2 double willow harnesses on #2 tadpoles at 60 and 80 on inline boards.Think they caught like 5 fish. Then had a couple cranks on outside boards that only caught one fish.Alot of boats out there but was spread out so far that had only a couple course corrections. An amazing fishery we have here on Erie.

6/7 Report

Last day with our amazing Gold Star Family filled the cooler and had a blast! Fished above Niagara to the line pulling bad mo spoons on Tru trip 40’s, 60-100 back. Dipseys on the corners 65-70 back pinks purples and antifreeze backs did the damage.

Day 2 with the Hubbard Family…6/7/2025

Hit Vermilion this morning.. no pics, unfortunately!
Same exact program I used yesterday, east of Kelly’s, but this time on the east side of the sandbar.

Finished an hour earlier than yesterday, but the fish were no bigger than what we had here at Kelly’s, so I won’t be over that way until these fish move east.

My crew said they had a great time, and that makes me happy! 🙂

My trip tomorrow was originally scheduled for the 21st, with my neighbors across the street, but I moved them to tomorrow, because the forecast had been looking so good, but now it’s changed. Tomorrow is calling for east winds at 15-20mph and a drizzly rain all morning. I’ll check it again in the morning, but they will probably keep their date on the 21st, if that doesn’t change for the better.

Stay tuned…
